Adventure knowledge is a study (30 credits) at the University of Nordland, in Bodø, Norway, where students who would like to learn more about Nature, Litterature, Art and Cultural Heritage in Nordland, and to make it an experience for life!
Experience of Art, Architecture and Cultural Heritage (10 credits) is a course with a focused and balanced introduction to Cultural
Heritage, Art and Architecture, particularly as it relates to international
academic discourse and using examples from the county Nordland. The
main focus of this part of the study is to look back at 1000 years of Scandinavian history,
through the chosen examples in Nordland, concentrating on religion and war as
it is seen in art, architecture and cultural heritage sites.
Students
participate in experienced-based learning activities such as excursions and
fieldtrips in Bodø and the Helgeland archipelago and coastal district, and the students will publish short essays about their experiences in this blog.
The aim is to get
acquainted with the art, architecture and cultural heritage in the county of
Nordland through the student’s own active participation and subject
development. Each student develops a reflection journal, documenting their
experiences and reflections connected to the field trips, excursions and
curriculum. And, each student reflects on the adventure experiences based on
his/her own cultural and academic viewpoint through a final essay discussing
this experience in relation to their own cultural background.
Come on and join us while we experience Nordland this winter!
